If Orlando, Florida immediately makes you think of Disneyworld (and nothing else), we’re about to expand your culinary horizons quite a bit! Within the last decade, Orlando has truly blossomed as an oasis not just for amusement parks and rides, but also for great food from a variety of cuisines.
In fact, The New York Times has listed Orlando as #13 on its list of the 52 best places to go in the world! So push aside the notion that Orlando is solely a destination for your kids, where you’ll only find standard chain restaurants!
Instead, look closely and you’ll find a totally desirable list of unique keto restaurant options (even if you’re a vegetarian or vegan following the diet). Check out some of our favorites, below!
1) Too Much Sauce
If you’re seeking fresh, fast and fun, you can have all three at this innovative foodie spot offering healthy food bowls with homemade sauces. And you’ll also find great low-carb options at this keto-friendly restaurant… Just remove the rice, noodles or potatoes from any of the bowls and you can have your pick!
Keto Menu Highlight: Two of the bowls at this restaurant are particularly great options when eating out on the keto diet: Buddy’s Keto and the Low Carb Bowl. First, Buddy’s Keto features roasted lemon pepper salmon, mixed greens, feta, almonds and more. Then, the Low Carb Bowl includes your choice of protein, cauliflower rice, mushrooms, broccoli, and a low-carb Italian vinaigrette sauce.
2) JJ’s Fusion Grille
This keto-friendly restaurant offers an eclectic mix of Mediterranean, Mexican and Lebanese cuisine, with plenty of low-carb choices. For those on a vegan or vegetarian keto diet, they also have plenty of options for you. All meals start with your choice of “base”, then you pick main meat or veggie, along with toppings and sides.
Keto Menu Highlights: Meat-eating keto dieters can choose from a variety of succulent meat options including grilled chicken breast, oven-roasted pork, grilled sirloin steak or honey roasted lamb. And vegans or vegetarians on keto can go with the broccolini, mushrooms or peppers and onions to start. Then, pick your favorite toppings like cheeses, hot sauces and more – with the guac and hummus being great high-fat options.
3) Zoe’s Kitchen
At this Mediterranean keto restaurant, you’ll find fresh, healthy dishes, including perfectly seasoned fish or meat, abundant veggies and tasty sides. Choose from a variety of soups and salads, tasty kabobs, great keto starters, flavorful sides, and family dinners.
Keto Menu Highlights: You can’t go wrong with the selection of hummus choices to start (including a basil pesto hummus). Plus, the hummus trio comes with cucumbers, bell peppers and tomatoes to dip! For your main meal, try the kabobs (chicken, steak, shrimp or salmon) and pair it with roasted veggies or a side Greek salad.
4) Greens & Grille
This keto-friendly restaurant allows you to create your own salads, and is also a great spot for vegetarians. Start with your choice of greens, then add a variety of appealing toppings such as seasonal veggies, cheese, nuts, seeds and more. Finally, pick your meat if you aren’t a vegetarian (or portabella mushroom if you are), and your choice of dressing.
Keto Menu Highlights: After you pick your greens, some particularly awesome keto options include the fresh avocado, kalamata olives, bacon, blue cheese, goat cheese, broccoli florets and sunflower seeds. In addition, any of the meats including the flank steak, salmon or pork loin are perfectly keto. Finally, finish it off with the kalamata olive, herbed ranch, eggless Caesar or creamy avocado dressing.
5) The Neighborhood Eatery
This keto restaurant serving traditional Korean food may not be fancy in appearance, but the authentic, flavorful cuisine is worth the stop. If you’re eating out on keto, you can indulge in a mix of their Korean Style Entrees – just leave out the rice. And if you’re a vegetarian on keto, they also have great options for you.
Keto Menu Highlight: One of the highlights at this keto restaurant is their selection of bulgogi dishes (chicken, pork, beef, and even sausage), featuring their homemade bulgogi sauce. If you like your meals hot, the Mills/50 Bowl (sans the rice) is also a great option. It includes grilled chicken, cabbage, pickled daikon and carrots plus additional low-carb veggies, topped with a fried egg, garlic aioli and hot sauce.
6) The Sanctum Cafe
This keto-friendly and vegetarian restaurant is one that’s great any time of day - offering menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. All of the ingredients at this healthy spot are non-GMO, and most are organic and locally-sourced. They also don’t use hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, or food dyes, which we think is pretty awesome!
Keto Menu Highlights: For the first meal of the day, the Breakfast Burrini is a delightful low carb option, including an egg or tofu scramble, tempeh sausage, mixed roasted veggies, queso, cashew cream and coconut bacon.
