If the warmer weather’s got you craving sweet, fruity, juicy and refreshing summer desserts, you’re not alone!
Inspired by one of my favorite desserts, I created this Peaches and Cream Protein Shake to mimic the treat in a healthier yet delicious way. As summer quickly approaches, this shake is perfect for when it’s too hot to turn on the stove, and you need a refreshing yet nourishing meal that will keep you full for hours! Or, when you want a dessert-like treat to keep you cool while you lounge outside…
Using nutrient-packed ingredients like 310 Vanilla, unsweetened almond milk, peaches, banana, 310 Collagen, and plain Greek yogurt, this protein shake contains everything you need for a filling breakfast, lunch, or snack. Or, even have it as a tasty dessert!
Even though it tastes like chilled peach pie in a glass, this yummy shake contains 31g of protein and 8g of nutritious fats to satisfy your sweet tooth, while fueling your body with essential micro and macronutrients. It may sound too good to be true, but this shake has no added sugar, so you can indulge and feel energized afterwards!
Before we dive into the full recipe, let’s go over some of the potential health benefits this shake has to offer…
Rich Flavor & Plant Proteins: 310 Vanilla Shake
The first ingredient that I’m using for major flavor is, (you guessed it), 310 Vanilla Shake! If you’re familiar with these meal replacements, you already know that 310 Vanilla Shake is a must-have ingredient as a great base for protein smoothies that are super-tasty and packed with nutritional value.
Crafted with plant-based proteins (pea, brown rice, and hemp), this blend helps keep you full and fuels your body with the nutrients it needs to function optimally. Protein is an essential macronutrient that provides your body with the basic building blocks it needs to build and maintain lean muscle mass, and maintain healthy cartilage and ligaments, so it’s important to meet your protein needs and incorporate high-quality sources into your diet. With 15g of plant-based protein per serving, you can easily increase your daily protein intake with just a scoop of 310 Vanilla Shake!
Additionally, 310 Shakes are soy, gluten, nut, and dairy-free, plus keto-friendly to suit a variety of dietary needs. And, 310 Shakes are sweetened only with Stevia, so you avoid all the added sugars and artificial sweeteners!
Naturally-Sweet Summer Fruit: Peaches
The next ingredient we are highlighting in this recipe is of course, peaches! This superfruit is juicy and full of natural sugars that pair especially well with 310 Vanilla Shake. Not to mention, it’s a source of vitamin A and C, as well as a variety of minerals including iron and potassium, to support overall health.
The season for peaches starts in late June, which isn’t too far away, but until then, you can still reap the health and taste benefits of this yummy fruit by using frozen peaches in this recipe!
Added Vital Proteins: Collagen & Greek Yogurt
This wouldn't be a "protein shake" without a little extra boost of protein, which is why I’ve included a couple of additional ingredients: 310 Collagen and Greek yogurt.
First, collagen is actually the most abundant protein in your body, providing the basic building blocks for your skin, bones, hair, nails, and tendons! Because of this, ensuring the body has enough collagen may help you to feel and look your best as you age, and maybe even avoid some age-related discomforts like joint pain.
It has been shown that the body produces less and less collagen with age, so adding it into your diet starting mid to late 20's may help to replenish it! A super-easy way to do this is by adding a scoop of 310 Collagen Powder into your smoothies. It’s flavorless and is packed with 11g of protein per serving, so you can easily incorporate this critical nutrient into your daily diet!
Finally, yogurt is one of my favorite ingredients to add into shakes because it adds a velvety, creamy texture to smoothies. And we have to have all the creaminess we can get for this Peaches and Cream Shake! Plus, it packs a punch in terms of that extra boost of protein. In this recipe we are using Greek yogurt, but you could also try regular plain yogurt or even a non-dairy plain yogurt - which is my personal favorite!
