The Turning Point...
I struggled with weight loss since high school. I guess you could say there are a few things that could have contributed to this. I blame it on having PCOS, depression, and being in and out of bad relationships. I had this unhealthy addiction to food, and when I was dealing with my depression, I would just eat and eat because it was the only thing that made me feel better.
My biggest struggle with weight loss was feeling insecure and frustrated because no matter how hard I tried to lose weight, I couldn't seem to make it happen.
My "ah - ha" moment was when I had just gotten out of an unhealthy relationship and I had moved to Texas. I was told by my doctor that I had PCOS and that my depression and weight gain was related, but also that I could manage a lot of these symptoms by simply working out and changing my diet. I decided I didn't want to keep living and feeling the way I did, so I joined a gym and started my journey.
I even decided to hire a personal trainer who ended up changing my life. He taught me all about how to be healthy, what exercises to do to help me lose weight, and the most important thing he taught me was how to develop a healthy mindset. He said if you have the proper mindset than you can achieve any goal.
In just a few months of sticking to my new healthy lifestyle and working out, I lost 20 pounds! I went from 180 to 160 – hitting my goal weight!
I feel amazing! I can't tell you how much my life has changed. Now that I've had success with a healthy lifestyle, it's hard to imagine my life without 310. It’s part of my life now. When I go a few days without my shakes, I am not as happy and I don't feel as good as when I do have them.
I just feel better overall. I'm happier, my clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for years are starting to fit again, I feel more confident about myself - and most of all, I feel like for the first time in my entire life I am choosing to make my health and mental health a priority.
My Healthy Lifestyle Routine:
Figuring out my daily routine was definitely a trial and error type situation when I first started. I had never tried protein drinks before and I was completely clueless on what to do or how to make my shakes. I didn't know what to put in my shakes or how much I should be consuming. But I learned from my trainer and the 310 Facebook Community, and determined what worked for my body.
I do one shake a day for breakfast.
For lunch, I will usually have tuna or egg salad with fruit and veggies.
I have small snacks throughout the day such as apples or almonds. I drink the 310 Lemonade as well!
Dinner is the one meal I didn't really change as I still eat my regular dinners just making sure I don't overdo it on the servings. I eat lots of chicken and salmon, as they are nutritious choices for me. The most important thing for me was cutting down on sugar. I know, I know - it sounds like the hardest thing. The first week I felt awful, but once I got over the two week mark of no sugar, I really started to see the difference. Now, my body doesn't even crave sugar anymore, and when I do eat it, I notice that I don’t even enjoy it as much.
Healthy eating and doing personal training have been the only things that seem to work for me. 310 fits into my lifestyle because I am really into fitness, and with being in the medical field, I'm sometimes too busy to cook and eat a full meal. These shakes really help me when I need something clean, quick and fast.

Staying Motivated Through Community...
I have to say I wouldn't be able to do this journey without my 310 Facebook Community. The group has helped me so much in my journey. I've met friends on this page and have grown a lot with people in the 310 Community. I am so thankful for my 310 family. It’s rare to go somewhere (especially on the internet) nowadays where there is not one negative comment, but here, everyone is uplifting and encouraging each-other. It really helped me, especially when I was having a hard time in the beginning.
My advice? Everyone's journey is different. Don't be hard on yourself if you don't see results right away because you will eventually. I promise if you stay on top of it and have the right mindset, the results will come. Don't give up. Look at it as an investment. You are investing in your health and choosing to better yourself. It's normal to be nervous or skeptical as I was when I first started this journey, but I promise if you give 310 a month of following a steady plan you will start to see results. Don't compare yourself to others as everyone's body is different.
I learned to think "inches before pounds" meaning you will more than likely lose inches before you lose pounds and that is completely normal. I lost a lot of inches and was getting discouraged as I was not losing any pounds, but once I got passed that stage is when I started to lose the weight. Take pictures every week! You see yourself every day so it's hard to see the changes, but once you look at the pictures you will see the transformation and it will motivate you to keep going. My last thing is mindset! It's all about your mindset and if you have the proper mindset you can truly accomplish anything. Don't give up and believe in yourself. :)
