You can use both (The frozen fruit will double up as ice to make it a chilled drink)
We recommend storing the pitcher in the fridge overnight for best results. However, the muddler that comes with the pitcher allows you to extract all the juices from the fruits a lot more quickly then your standard water infuser process. Infusing overnight will make the flavors more potent.
