Classic Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

A strawberry banana smoothie is one of those drinks that is absolutely timeless and will never go out of style! When I can’t decide what kind of smoothie or shake to make, I always go with this classic Strawberry and Banana Smoothie and I’m never disappointed!

Not to mention, it’s a delicious way to incorporate vitamin C and potassium into my diet with strawberries and banana. This fruity smoothie reminds me of all the yogurt and yogurt drinks I had as a kid, except this version is packed with whole foods and has zero added sugars, making it the perfect snack or healthy dessert.

Keep on reading for my take on this iconic smoothie!

What You Need to Make This Smoothie

You only need six ingredients to make this shake: 310 Organic Unflavored, frozen banana, strawberries, coconut water, chia seeds, and ice. The ingredients may be pretty simple, but this smoothie is bursting with flavor, especially with the fresh strawberries that are currently in season!

310 Organic Unflavored

If you’re familiar with my recipes, you know I love adding meal replacement shakes into my smoothies to help add thickness and extra nutrition! I’ll often add a flavored shake as a way to enhance the taste, but in this case, I want the strawberries and banana to be the star flavors in this smoothie.

310 Organic Unflavored is the perfect option to use in these instances and it’s also packed with protein and fiber to help keep you satiated. Below are some other reasons why I’m such a big fan of 310 Organic Unflavored!

  • Vegan, keto, and paleo-friendly to suit a variety of lifestyles
  • 15g of plant-based proteins and 5g of dietary fiber
  • Free from sugar, dairy, soy, and gluten
  • Use in your favorite smoothie recipes without altering the taste!

Ways to “Shake Up” This Smoothie

Although this Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a classic, there are still some ways you can tweak the recipe while maintaining the fruity flavors that you know and love! These alternative ingredients are a great way to add a little bit of variety when you’re in the mood to change it up.

  • Almond or coconut milk instead of coconut water: For a creamier taste
  • Flax seeds or hemp seeds instead of chia seeds: Adds more texture and mouthfeel
  • Avocado instead of chia seeds: For a completely smooth and silky consistency

How to Make this Classic Smoothie

This smoothie is so easy to make and takes almost no time at all! Cut the green tops off your strawberries and slice in half. Once you have your strawberries prepped, add the rest of your ingredients into the blender and blend until everything is completely smooth and thoroughly combined. All that’s left is to pour your finished smoothie into a glass and enjoy!
