Showdown: 310 Shakes vs. Thrive Shakes

Though at first glance, 310 Shakes by 310 Nutrition and Thrive Shakes by Le-Vel may look like similar healthy lifestyle shakes, there are actually very striking differences between the two, which we’re going to dig into in this comparison article…

To begin with, the companies are run entirely differently. Le-Vel is a multilevel marketing company (MLM); Therefore, you buy your Thrive Shakes through individual sales representatives in your area. In contrast, 310 Nutrition is not an MLM, so you buy your shakes online from our website. This makes it convenient to get what you need when you need it, without having to go through a middle-person.

Both companies also offer additional healthy lifestyle products that can be taken along with the shakes to enhance results. 310 Nutrition offers other healthy beverages including green juices, detox teas and metabolism-boosting lemonades, along with an array of dietary supplements. The products are formulated to help support weight loss and also create healthier habits that can fit into everyone’s lifestyle. They have a variety of bundles, such as a starter kit starter kit, that lets you try all of the products before committing to full sizes.

Le-Vel sells their products as an “8-week experience”. Along with the Thrive Shake, it features two supplements and a skin patch. All of the products together are meant to help you lose weight, tone up, improve your fitness efforts and make better dietary choices.

So, which shake best meets your personal lifestyle needs and may help you conquer your goals? Read on to find out…

Thrive Shakes by Le-Vel come in four different flavors.

Tasty or Terrible?!

One of the most important questions when it comes to meal replacement shakes is how do they taste and are they something you can get excited about drinking every day?

Starting with 310 Shakes, they come in a variety of flavors that users in 310 Shake reviews love. 310 Nutrition always offers delicious unique flavors of Decadent Chocolate, Silly Smooth Vanilla, Blissful Salted Caramel and Versatile Unflavored. We also offer seasonal flavors that are only available for short periods.

Our 310 Shake reviews show that what stands out and above other brands is the smooth creamy textures and naturally delicious tastes (that aren’t overly sweet). The diet shakes are sweetened with natural sugar alternatives only, and don’t contain artificial sweeteners.

In contrast, Thrive Shakes are available in four standard flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Apple Pie. And Thrive reviews showed that many people actually didn’t care for the taste of the shakes.

The chief complaint among many of the reviews was that Thrive shakes were too sweet and left an aftertaste (most likely due to the artificial sweeteners in the shake). Other reviews said that they had a chalky texture. (1) However, everyone has their own individual preferences and there were some Le-Vel Thrive reviews from users who love the taste of the shakes, saying they have the perfect amount of sweetness.

Now Let’s See Who’s Got the Upper Hand When It Comes To….

Calories

Both 310 Shakes and Thrive Shakes contain a low amount of calories per serving, which is ideal for a meal replacement shake. 310 comes in at the lowest number of calories with 90 calories per serving; Thrive Shake is right on par with 110 calories per serving.

Since they’re replacing meals, many weight loss shakes pack in a ton of calories, but this can actually hurt you more than help you. Instead, you want a balanced nutritional shake that is low in calories and still contains all the vital elements needed to boost your energy and metabolism, satisfy your hunger, and maintain a healthy weight. This includes sufficient protein, fiber, nutrients and superfoods.

We have kept the calorie count on our 310 Shakes low to give you the freedom to add additional healthy ingredients into your shakes like fruits, vegetables, nut butters, yogurts, etc. In addition, if you have a lofty weight goal, it can help you reach your bottom line faster.

Sugars / Artificial Sweeteners

Another important aspect of meal replacement shakes is how much sugar per serving is in each one. Sugar in general can make or break your healthy lifestyle and weight loss efforts. It’s incredibly unhealthy and has no place in a health or weight loss supplement, in our opinions.

310 Shakes are unique in the fact that they have NO sugar! Instead, they contain a natural, plant-based sugar alternative, Stevia extract and in some flavors the addition of Monk Fruit, as well. There are also no artificial ingredients or processed sugars used in the formula.

Thrive Shakes, on the other hand, have 2g of sugar per serving. Though this is a reasonable amount, a more in-depth look at the additional ingredients in the shakes reveals the types of sweeteners they’re using, which aren’t optimal for good health.

Thrive Shake Contains Maltodextrin (Not GMO-Free)

The very first ingredient listed on the Thrive shake labelis maltodextrin – a highly-processed carbohydrate (or sugar). Though it’s commonly used as a thickener or preservative in foods, it’s not tolerated well by some people. Therefore, some Thrive negative side effects may include gastrointestinal upset like gas, bloating and diarrhea. (2)

Also, since maltodextrin has a very high glycemic index (much higher than regular table sugar), it can cause uncomfortable blood sugar spikes that make it harder to lose weight and easier to gain it, plus may be dangerous for diabetics.

Finally, the maltodextrin in Thrive Shakes is not GMO-free per the product label. Genetically-modified foods come with their own list of potential health issues, so many people avoid them.

There is also another sweetener we pinpointed on the label…

Thrive Shake Contains Sucralose (Splenda)

Thrive Shakes also contain an artificial sweetener (Sucralose), which you may know better as Splenda. Though many people think of artificial sweeteners as “healthier” alternatives to actual sugar, more and more research is revealing that this simply isn’t true. (3)

There are two major reasons you’re better off avoiding the regular use of artificial sweeteners… Some studies show that long-term use may potentially lead to health problems down the road, and they may even cause you to gain weight instead of losing it. (4)

How do they do this? Artificial sugars are much, much sweeter than regular table sugar. They therefore activate hunger signals in our bodies, causing us to crave more food (especially sweets) and potentially eat more calories than we would have otherwise.

Though the jury is still out on whether these lab-concocted sweeteners are safe in moderation, the consensus seems to be that you shouldn’t consume them often.

Each Thrive Shake contains an artificial sweetener, Sucralose, which may negatively affect your health and weight loss goals.

Protein

Next up on the list to discuss is protein. Especially in a meal replacement shake, the amount and type of protein used is so important! Along with the sugar and fiber content, these ingredients can make or break a shake.

At 310 we relied on expert nutritionists and scientists to develop a combination of plant-based proteins (pea, brown rice and pumpkin). We have an exclusive Tri-Plex Protein Blend ™ which offers optimal potential absorption to maximize the nutrient benefits

We commend the use of plant-based proteins for a number of reasons, but mainly because they’re easy on the digestive system while offering many health benefits, and research shows they can help with your weight loss goals. (5)

Each 310 Shake has 15g of protein per serving, an ideal amount for a weight loss shake. Any less than this amount may not be enough to help boost your metabolism and satisfy you for a good 3-4 hours until your next meal.

Moving on to Thrive Shakes… Each shake also offers 15g of protein per serving, but there are different proteins used. Thrive Shakes contain an interesting mix of pea, whey concentrate and soy proteins, and the only problem we have with this mix is the soy.

Thrive Shakes Contain Soy Protein

There’s a lot of controversy surrounding soy protein, with conflicting opinions about whether or not it’s bad for you. However, there are some reasons why you may want to avoid this protein.

Soy contains phytoestrogens which are estrogen mimicking and may cause potential health problems in both females and males. Another issue with soy is that the type used in most of the products today (including protein shakes) is genetically modified soy. In general, GMO foods come with their own list of potential negative health effects that you may want to avoid. (6)

Fiber / Shake Satisfaction

Fiber is another essential element of meal replacement shakes, as it determines how well the shake will fill you up and how long it will satisfy you before you’re hungry again.

Both 310 Shakes and Thrive Shakes have 5g of fiber per serving, which is great, as fiber is a vital element in any healthy diet and should be one of the cornerstones of a healthy meal. Shakes with less than 5g per serving may not provide your body with enough fiber to effectively flush unwanted toxins out of your system and keep your digestive system running smoothly.

How well did the shakes keep users full? 310 Shake reviews revealed that users were thoroughly satisfied after drinking 310 Shakes, and cravings were subsided for 3-4 hours. In contrast, many Thrive users said that the shakes had thin consistencies and didn’t work to keep them full, despite the fiber content. (1)

Nutrients/Antioxidant-Rich Superfoods

Although you want a shake to be low in calories, the best measure of a healthy lifestyle shake is also how nutritious it is for you. Therefore, it should include a good amount of vitamins, minerals and even some superfoods.

Starting with 310 Shakes, our weight loss shakes are unique in that they include valuable nutrients in every serving along with a proprietary greens blend for gut health.

The 310 Greens Blend includes nutrient-packed superfoods like organic broccoli, kale, spinach and spirulina, adding additional antioxidants, enzymes, phytonutrients and more in every serving to support gut, immune and total body health.

Moving onto Thrive Vanilla Shake, it does not include a superfood blend, however their main proprietary blend of ingredients does include probiotics and digestive enzymes, both great for digestive and total body health.

The probiotic strain, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, is also included in their shakes, which is a well-studied strain known to benefit overall health. There’s also a handful of digestive enzymes supporting gut health.

Thrive Shakes Contain Natural Caffeine

Thrive Shakes also contain natural caffeine from black tea. The shakes are meant to be consumed in the morning, so this shouldn’t be a problem for those who are used to having it, although you’ll most likely have to replace your normal cup of java or tea with them.

However, it wouldn’t be wise to have this shake later in the day because it could affect the quality of your sleep.

Multilevel Marketing Company (MLM) vs. Non-MLM

Moving onto the way the companies are structured, 310 Nutrition and Le-Vel are very different.

Le-Vel is a multi-level marketing company (MLM). This means that you buy your products through a local seller, or distributor. Normally, you can still choose from any of the available products and the seller will order them for you, but there will only be a limited amount that she will have on hand for you to try.

Whereas with MLMs, there may be more added pressure to buy and become a seller yourself, some people like the personal attention and insight that a distributor provides. In addition, for some people it may be an opportunity to make extra money by starting their own business (if they become passionate about the product).

At 310 Nutrition we are not a multilevel marketing (MLM) company, so you buy products right from our company website. If you have a problem, you can chat with a Customer Service rep 24/7, and they can help you with your order. This gives you direct access to all of the products and free services we offer to support your weight loss journey with us.

Price of 310 Shakes vs. Thrive Shakes

You can get started with 310 for $9.00… We offer a $9.00 starter kit so you can try the shakes and experience the benefits before purchasing full containers of items.

Then each 310 Shake is $68.00 for a 28-serving bag ($2.43 a serving), or less if you put it on Subscribe and Save that gives you auto-delivery and on-going savings.. Since our shakes contain high-quality protein, fiber, v superfoods and probiotics in each serving, this is a great price in relationship to the quality. The company also offers We also offer a number of promotions on our site throughout the year where you can take advantage of even greater savings.

Finding out the price of Thrive Shakes was not as straightforward since the company is an MLM. The company website simply directs you to “get back to the person that introduced you to Le-Vel” or visit their Facebook page and create a post so someone can contact you to get started.

However, the company website does give some prices. Thrive suggests you start your program with the “8-week experience”, which includes the Thrive shake and 3 other products. You can choose different 4-week packs that range from $100 to $200 to start.

Also, a number of Thrive reviews point out that for certain levels of membership, you have to spend a minimum amount of money each month (between $100 and $300) and put your products on Autoship. (1) (7)

Final Verdict: Which Shake Works Best?

Did users feel they were truly thriving on Thrive Shakes? Did 310 Shakes keep users full and satisfied and did they look forward to drinking them every day? User reviews are the best measure of success, as they show the real live experiences.

Based on these reviews, the consensus was that users adored the taste of 310 Shakes and almost everyone saw great weight loss results from using them. In addition, people appreciated the affordable price of 310 Shakes. (1)

A lot of Thrive weight loss reviews mentioned that they didn’t love the taste of the shakes, though they did feel a boost of energy in the morning that helped them accomplish goals throughout their day.

Ultimately, 310 Nutrition and Le-Vel offer very different things… 310 offers meal replacement shakes that make it easy and convenient to stay in good health on a busy schedule. You can use these shakes to get fit in the short-term, and as healthy lifestyle shakes for the long-term.

Thrive promotes an “8-week experience” to a better you and the potential opportunity to start your own business since they are an MLM. You can purchase the shakes by themselves, but the real Thrive program is meant to include other products that all work together for your ultimate wellness – and this may cost more money.

In addition, we were less than impressed with the ingredients in Thrive Shakes, especially the fact that they include an artificial sugar, soy protein, and GMO maltodextrin (listed as the first ingredient).
